The potential applications for wireless technology are huge. Wireless applications have impacted our daily live enormously. But what is the status in the process industry on using wireless applications? You will see that wireless technology will have a huge impact in this area. In our research in 2007 we saw that product vendors where actively developing products and some where promoting this on the market, but there was no local organisation who was trained and had the right tools to supply the services to deliver a reliable network. And still today this is the case.

Coso started actively acquiring knowledge about wireless applications and we are now delivering services to the market, end-users and product vendors, where we support, on a second line basis, the product vendor service organisation with our knowledge in setting up projects, maintaining wireless networks and troubleshooting. We are focussing on the industrial market, where specific problems like ATEX, IP classification but also disturbance sources (high power levels, certain measurements) and obstacles (steel constructions, pipes and tanks) can be found. CoSo has knowledge of WiFi (IEEE 802.11a/b/g/n), ISA100 and Wireless HART (both IEEE 802.15.4) and Bluetooth (IEEE 802.15.1)

CoSo is member of the Wireless Community, and supports the SCALA project executed by Artesis University of Antwerpen and KaHo St Lieven University of Gent . Furthermore we are developing a 'service analyzing and performance monitoring tool' for Wireless HART and ISA100.

The CoSo engineers who are supplying these wireless services are highly educated and are also Cisco certified engineers.
